    Re: Ideas for Scenario Games

I started to play paintball, along time ago with my brothers in my families back yard(only about 5 acres) and we would always want to do a large game where we reenacted the one of the great battles of The Civil War or any major conflict that the US has been involved in through out history. I think that any game based on actual event would draw a crowd of more seasoned players and bring in some new players. I think such reenactment would add something more to the game and a connection beyond that of the theme.

I have shied away from these recent one because the story lines seemed a little elementary, like we were shooting for the 10 to 15 year old group and not the guys that would be out on the field all day that make it really exciting.

My first senerio was the HALO event and was looking forward to another one with just as universal of a attraction, and yet the last one that I thought was the 3 game series that was canciled last summer. I hope to see more based on popular video games like Call of Duty and HALO, or even Star Craft.

Well its been your loss to miss out on some real fun, They aren't nearly as complex as a 26 hour game but that simply due to the 8 hour format. It's already been stated by the owner and manager that #1 games are for the fun side of scenario so the themes will be a bit goofy, Viper and Tatical run war based games if that's what you need. Quite a few of the teams I see out at #1 I've also seen out playing Viper games, sure there are some kids out there to since it's a local field and they are there to promote new players to get into scenario also but there is still a lot of seasoned scenario players out there giving a high level of hard fought competion. You really should try actualy playing a game first before making a judgement on what they are.

    Re: Ideas for Scenario Games

Sorry You must have mis understood me, I never doubted the game play of the other games, I am sure that they were great. I remeber the Halo event and how I was able to connect to the theme and the story line. I thought that was what made it great. I think that these goofy themes are just that a little goofy. I enjoy goofy(one of my favorite Disney characters) I was just saying that I Would enjoy having at least one that is centered around a popularized war game, or the actual events of the past.

I think that it would be a great way to connect to those that have given of themselves for what we enjoy today. Not just those that defend us today but those that have from the start of this marvelous contry, and beyond.

I also think that a 300 Themed game would be fun, and do not get me wrong, a fight between the Smurfs and Gargamale(I hope I spelled that right), or Transformers or even Care Bears would be great. I was just giving my opinion of what I would like to see.

"I just had an Apostophy" There could be one based on a cult movie classic, like Montey Python and the Holy Grail, or Indiana Jones 1-3(I am not sure what I think of #4 yet). The sides would be fairly easy to define and pulling something from the movie or just comeing up with something for the missions would be fun. I would say that would be an instant hit

    Re: Ideas for Scenario Games

I was just trying to say the games aren't nearly as silly as the themes seem to be, except the December Reindeer revolt game.

And the owner has stated that no war themed scenarios will be run by the field as long as they own it, due to what ever reasons they have, thier choice of course.

just a FYI on it Wink

Ninja Turtles and ____ vs Shredder and The Foot Clan??

I like the pirates of the carribean idea someone posted earlier.  That could have lots of fun antics!

    Re: Ideas for Scenario Games

Dont you think that would defeat the idea of "Burgers". I mean you could start adding in other lesser known chains like Wendy's and Whataburger, or even go so far as to bring in In-N-Out and other chains of Burger places but to bring in a chicken place that would be ludicrous.

    Re: Ideas for Scenario Games

Have you looked at the storyline you are presenting so far?  Ludicrous kinda fits altogether.  And as to the main storyline, it is still about burgers, but adding Chick-Fil-A as a third faction could invoke some twists into the story.

Of course, if you are all about defending what you have without others throwing in their opinions or thoughts, then write it and present it to Rick Hood.  He is final arbitrator in any scenarios #1 will run.
